Dear Colleagues and fellow members of the ESTD,
I’m writing you a short letter a few weeks after our conference in Copenhagen. Thanks to all of you, it was a great success. We did receive such nice overall feedback about the quality and the atmosphere of the Conference, which certainly raises our motivation and gives even more sense to all the hard work that had been put into organising this event. The diversity in presentation topics was something that struck me and I was delighted with the quality and creativity of the presentations.
During the board meeting we had in Copenhagen, we decided to organize our next conference in April 2016, again in Amsterdam. Yes, we will be already celebrating our 10th year of ESTD existence! The choice of the city has much to do with the fact that Amsterdam is very accessible from all parts of Europe, all parts of the world, and also because we had a team ready to jump into the starting blocks, which was necessary as the conference is in less than two years! The title will be: Trauma, dissociation and affect dysregulation over the lifespan. Nelleke Nicolai from The Netherlands accepted the position of chair for the organising Dutch- Belgian committee.
The DVD No two paths the same, a training video on treatment of dissociative disorders produced for First Person Plural by social Media will be soon available on our website. Hearing persons speaking about the way they experienced treatment as a patient can be very instructive for all of us dealing with complex situations during the different treatment phases.
I wish you all a very nice summer holiday.
