This webinar presents a general and introductory approach to clinical experience and preliminary results on trauma and dissociation in obese candidates for bariatric surgery. Grounded in clinical experience with this population, it addresses both the assessment of patients and therapeutic work with trauma and dissociation. Findings reveal important links between adverse experiences, somatoform dissociation, and sexual trauma, with direct implications for assessment and clinical intervention. The webinar invites reflection on clinical practice and future research directions and it highlights challenges and opportunities for clinical practice and future research in the field.
