ESTD

European Society
for Trauma and Dissociation

About Us

The European Society for Trauma and Dissociation (ESTD) was founded in the Netherlands in April 2006. Its establishment was the result of active collaboration and planning by specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of trauma-related disorders, in particular complex dissociative disorders. Among them, there were representatives of 17 European countries, as well as from the Executive Council of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD).

The mission of the ESTD is to support research and development of knowledge about the clinical effects of complex trauma, recognition of symptoms, proper diagnosis and treatment of trauma-related disorders. We fulfil this mission by supporting collaboration between scientists and clinicians from around the world, conducting webinars and training with experts in the field, and organising international congresses.
